Embrace our imperfections , for we don't need to be perfect anyway!!!

The source of my inspiration to pen down this poem !

As she hummed her favourite song teary eyed but with a smile etched across her face ,
Fond memories made her take a walk to that old familiar place.
A place which could only be described as a haven .A place where she could be herself and never be judged,
But life had other plans instead.

She became a victim of circumstances and thereafter spiralled into a web of self pity,
People no longer interested her and she attended social gatherings rather reluctantly .
The more she withheld , the greater was her misery,
Until one day she screamed in agony , " Oh Lord ! Put an end to this and set me free " !

Filled with anger she set out on a destination unknown ,
With great trepidation ,she walked into the woods and decided to build herself a new home .
Nature teaches one in ways inexplicable she had been told time again ,
Hence she set out to experience this and be zen.

The first few days were nightmarish and filled with despair,
The thought of giving up came up often but she overcame it with a prayer .
The next morning she was taught her first lesson by a newborn fawn,
Who learnt to get up and walk at the break of dawn.

The fawn kept falling each time it tried to walk ,but it never quit ,
Until finally it was successful purely due to it's grit.
As she soaked in this moment she realised that it was okay to fail,
But it wasn't okay to quit - NANA KOROBI,YA OKI  ( Fall seven times,stand up eight )

A week passed after this incident and then she witnessed something enthralling,
A fight between a hare and an eagle , in which the hare bravely fought off the predator and even clipped his wing !
Stunned she watched the tiny hare overcome against all odds ,
Lesson learnt she prayed to her Gods !

It doesn't matter if the odds are stacked heavily against you ,
For all one needs is inner strength through and through.
She soaked in this lesson and moulded her mind to become as strong as steel ,
Whilst she ensured she regained her lost zeal .

A fortnight passed and it was time to bid adieu to the frosty cold,
For Spring was here officially and so she decided to take a stroll .
Oh! What a transformation it was!A sight to behold ,
For the white cover spread across had melted and given way to liquid gold !

The sun shone bright as she dwelled upon her thoughts ,
It taught her that good days do indeed arrive post the bad ones for it is all just a plot !
A plot by HIM to teach us to hang on ,no matter what ,
For the battles we wage within ,don't always need to be fought !

As she stooped to take a whiff of the fragrance of a blooming rose ,
Her eyes were drawn to a beautiful butterfly which flitted right beside her nose .
She watched it dance and admired it's beauty as it settled on her skirt ,
But suddenly let out a gasp seeing it was hurt !

A piece of the butterfly's wings were torn and missing,
Yet it flitted from flower to flower proudly flapping it's wings !
The butterfly with it's imperfection somehow seemed more enchanting ,
And it filled her heart with love and made her sing !

A voice that quivered and seemed a tad shrill ,
But she laughed happily and enjoyed the thrill .
For the greatest lesson had been taught to her today ,
To embrace her imperfections ,for we don't need to be perfect anyway !

It is our imperfections that make us unique and so enchanting ,
And with outstretched hands she embraced the Spring !
Indeed nature teaches one in ways inexplicable she mused ,
And decided to pass on this advice to others enthused !
