4 Hygiene factors to be in place prior to entering the world of Investing.

               As many of you would be aware , I follow Muthu sir , one of the well known handles on Twitter for his sensible approach towards Investing .This blog post is my humble attempt at creating Financial literacy on 1 of his tweets.     We often come across stories of people from " Rags to Riches " in markets and become so enamoured by it. Who wouldn't ! Afterall , we all wish to earn easy money and lead a comfortable life. What we don't focus on is the reverse " Riches to Rags " story (which happens a lot ) and is of utmost importance as we get to learn from the mistakes of others*( More on this in my upcoming blogs !) However before we begin the journey of investing in markets there are a few things we need to have ticked off from our financial checklist to ensure we sail through turbulent times of illiquidity, smoothly.      In this blogpost I shall throw light upon the areas which need our focus prior to investing in markets.

What is Neivedya ? Why do we offer Neivedya ?

           Following the last thread explaining the significance of lighting a lamp , I decided to blog next on a topic close to my heart - Neivedyam and its significance. I fast often and make something as offering to the Lord aka Neivedya. So today I want to explain the rationale behind it .   Om Bhoorbhuvassuvah Amrutho(u)pasvaranamasi Om Pranaya svaha  ,  Om Apanaya svaha ,  Om Vyanaya svaha , Om Udanaya svaha ,  Om Samanaya svaha, Om Brahmane svaha. What is Neivedya? ( नैवेद्य ) . Why do we offer Neivedya ?" The post shall explain the symbolism and spiritualism behind it .This blogpost is just to give a broad overview, so that it is simple to understand for many.     Commonly we find people making an offering to the Lord first and later eating it as "Prasad" .This act of offering food first to deity in Hinduism is known as Neivedyam. WHY DO WE LIGHT A LAMP ?

I wrote this post on Twitter today and received a lot of positive feedback, so I decided to blog it as well for the benefit of those not on Twitter. शुभं करोति कल्याणं आरोग्यं धनसंपदः । शत्रुबुद्धि विनाशाय दीपज्योतिनमोऽस्तु ते ॥ In India we light a lamp daily before the altar of the Lord. Some houses light them twice - At Dawn and Dusk. Sometimes we maintain a lit lamp continuously (Akhanda Deepam). Prior to all auspicious functions, rituals and moments we light a lamp . Why do light a lamp? Light symbolises "knowledge". "Chaitanya" Lord is the illuminator of knowledge who dispels ignorance . Knowledge removes ignorance just like light removes darkness. " ज्ञान" is a lasting inner wealth with the help of which one can build outer wealth as well . Thus knowledge backs all our actions - good or bad.
