A trip to Thane Flamingo Sanctuary !

             My New Year bucket list had this particular thingy since 2017 when I first watched a documentary on Flamingos as to how they flew from their breeding colonies during winters to warmer spaces and temporarily stayed back for a few months and survived and thrived consuming the algae and thereby deriving their Pink colour !! Yes , the juvenile Flamingos are a dark brown in colour as opposed to the adult which is bright pink in colour !    So naturally my joy knew no bounds when after a lot of enquiry and searching about in December  , I finally found the perfect location to watch these beautiful migratory birds and capture them in action !! Okay! Enough build up done !! 😆😆😆😆😆 The place is right here beneath our busy noses at Airoli !! The source of my inspiration to pen down this poem ! As she hummed her favourite song teary eyed but with a smile etched across her face , Fond memories made her take a walk to that old familiar place. A place which could only be described as a haven .A place where she could be herself and never be judged, But life had other plans instead. She became a victim of circumstances and thereafter spiralled into a web of self pity, People no longer interested her and she attended social gatherings rather reluctantly . The more she withheld , the greater was her misery, Until one day she screamed in agony , " Oh Lord ! Put an end to this and set me free " ! Filled with anger she set out on a destination unknown , With great trepidation ,she walked into the woods and decided to build herself a new home .
