TSJ - Naam Toh Suna Hi Hoga !😉😉😉😉

Pretty much sums up what Music means to The Sunday Jammers !

After yet another enthralling and rather noisy TSJ session today in Mulund, I decided it was high time that I blogged about this wonderful group , it's history and what it means to me as a person . Afterall, all great experiences must be shared ,mustn't they ? So this blog post is my token of appreciation for Radha and Gokul and all the Admin and most importantly to all the Jammers!
Akhirkaar humse hi toh group banta hai !😉

                                              So here it goes .....
As I was randomly scrolling through the net last November , I found a new version of Mile Sur Mera Tumhara by a group called the The Sunday Jammers. Intrigued , I heard it and fell in love with the concept in entirety ! On doing some research I found out that the group jammed in Mulund itself and this was the same group my friend had told me about a couple of years ago.Turned out that, that friend is Radha's younger brother !!👀😆       Talk about ITTEFAQ!!!
So I became a part of TSJ in Dec 2018 and have been attending as many sessions as possible since then and then I thought of penning down a few (ok! Not so few😆 ) lines for my blog as well !😉Afterall I had totally stopped blogging for an entire year owing to my lethargy and this blogpost seemed like a perfect one to pick off from , where I had left !!

The idea to form such a jamming group struck Radha when she attended a jamming session elsewhere. However owing to travel constraints she did not find that feasible and hence decided to start a new group in Mulund itself. After all there was no dearth of music lovers here in Mulund! But at the same time she felt the need to involve another person (enter Gokul) who would be as passionate as her (if not more!) about music. She believed, together with their synergy they would be able to drive this group in an effective manner and on 26th JAN 2017 , TSJ kicked off with 26 music enthusiasts !!

The Creative and Amazing Founders of TSJ

Thus began the birth of "The Sunday Jammers – A non-commercial initiative" wherein people from all over get together on a Sunday and simply unwind. In today’s rate race all of us are under some stress or the other-be it professional or personal . But a platform like TSJ simply lets us unwind. No one is judged for their performance. It is all about enjoyment. Being theme based people end up learning so much ( like there ARE songs featuring Govinda and Urmila ..Sanjay Kapoor is ALSO an actor etc etc  😝😝 ) whilst having a ball at the same time! Each performance is live with accompaniments aplenty! A special shout out for all the musicians who get the accompaniments each time for us singers and also teach us about various musical instruments that we are totally unaware of !!
Happiness !
Zara concentration toh dekho!

A few of the musicians with their ( not so few ) accompaniments !!

What I loved about TSJ founders is the fact that they both are so humble and down to earth and are always enthusiastic and yet “follow the rules to the T" when it comes to their WhatsApp group and communication. No mean feat considering 250 + members !!!  🙌🙌🙇
Secondly the Admin members are praiseworthy who come up with one amazing theme after the other to ensure things don’t get mundane whilst jamming .The zeal displayed by all the admins to run this group is commendable! From having just 26 members in its first session to now having over 250+ music enthusiasts apart from TSJ sessions held at Thane, Bangalore and even Hong Kong , TSJ -Trivia Sundays (fun filled nuggets of information by a fellow jammer MHH), TSJ Caravan ( wherein they come to a place near you) and TSJ - Juniors ( exclusively for the kiddos .  After all why should only adults have all the fun ! 😆) it has been a spectacular expansion of music being celebrated by complete strangers who have become a part of the TSJ family simply because they love music ! I think that's what makes it so special and a stand out as the entire expansion has been by word of mouth only. When emotions connect ,the feeling is indescribable and surreal at times and nothing else matters.... Certain songs with their lingering melody bring back the memory of a loved one , some fun filled force us to tap our feet rhythmically whilst some make us contemplate on the purpose of life. Having said that ,team events are one such category wherein adults turn into kids and go bonkers whilst pressing the buzzer !( Or banging the spoon against a katora ...ahemmm...  ) All of a sudden the transformation from a brooding adult to a giggling child is noteworthy !We totally forget our troubles for a while and wholeheartedly revel in the chaos we create. I feel the purpose of TSJ is to Create and Share Joy & Hope ....  AFTERALL SHARING IS CARING NA ?Except when it comes to points and declaring a team as a Winner!!  😛😛
Best buzzer in town 😛
Friendship day celebrations!

When one is not afraid of being judged and is always encouraged , the person automatically takes initiative and tries to attempt something out of the box because the “fear"and “ridicule” quotient is ZERO and that is precisely what TSJ has done successfully! From people trying out a collaboration with an unknown fellow jammer to trying their hands at a new instrument or honing their existing skills or even attempting to sing in a different language altogether , this amazing platform has helped people shed their inhibitions completely which has helped many find solace .

To sum it up ... I am glad to be a part of this venture and I hope from the bottom of my heart that TSJ goes places yet remains the same - Unadulterated and Non Judgemental .
         Afterall ....

Zindagi ek geet hain ..... Isse hothon pe sajale ,
Ghum ho ya Khushi ho.... Pyaar se gun gunale...

because you shall always have the TSJ family as an audience to listen!
