Getting There By Air Nearest airport is Mumbai, 136 kms. By Rail Nearest railhead is Panvel, 85 kms, on Konkan Railway By Road Mumbai - Panvel - Pen - Alibag - Kihim, 136 kms, Alibag - Kihim, 12 kms,  Panvel - Kihim, 85 kms. By Sea THE VIEW OF OUR COASTLINE Nearest port is Mandwa, 4 kms. from Kihim. There is a boat service from Gateway of India to Mandwa, every  half hour. The boats available are AC speed boats with personalized cabin facility and normal non a/c ferries. the ferry charges are Rs 95 (one way) which also includes free coach travel upto Kihim (however, this is never told out aloud). Do try and board this free bus provided,else one has to fork out Rs 275 by hailing a rickshaw or Rs 350 by boarding a tum tum to Kihim beach.      On a cold winter's day I suggest one to take the ferry by 9am from Gateway.It gives a panoramic view of the coastline.One can enjoy the view, breeze, sea gulls and pelican ,watch out for v...

( apart from penning down this blog, because that's how loooooooooong I take to put my thoughts into words! ) ;)          Firstly wishing all of you a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!Now that all the brouhaha has subsided,it is back to square one for all of us. (Somethings don't change,do they?? :) ) But then I bet that each one of us would have resolved something , a promise made to oneself or others ...                                             Pent up Verbal Diarrhea    #      Firstly, I would like to begin with voicing my opinion on this #ICE BUCKET fad ! What the heck!!!!!! It's all over the internet! Wherever I go, there is a video of someone randomly dunking oneself with ice cold water... If you guys wish to donate, then do it! Why on earth should one nominate someone to take up this challenge ! ( yeahhhh.... 'coz pouring ice cold water on oneself is INDEED THE MOST DIFFICULT CHALLENGE EVER...... *** rolls eyes and smirks*** ) Agreed it is for contributing towards those suffering from Lou Gehrig,but then aren't there millions out there who are in dire need of access to potable water ???? Ever thought about them before dunking oneself with perfectly potable water ??????????           ...

       THIS ONE IS FOR ALL MY DEAR STUDENTS! :)          The past few weeks have been surreal.I think I can safely say that I have learnt more from my students than the other way around..I believe life is a learning curve and that each experience teaches us something.. More so, if we belong to the optimistic category and have a zest for life.         I take this opportunity to thank all of my students.You guys have changed me..FOR THE BETTER. :) Before i entered the teaching profession there were moments of indecisiveness and self doubt gnawing me.. Somehow those have disappeared.The love that you guys have showered upon me and the respect you have bestowed upon me renders me speechless.For once,i am at a loss of words!!! And that is quite something! :) :) Some of the batches were too scared ...some had ego issues... but most of them were simply rocccking!!!! Although i don't have snaps of all my batches for var...

LIFE AT 25 :)!!!!        Turning 25 is no big deal apart from the fact that IT IS A BIG DEAL !!!  All the more so if you belong to the female category of specie and are in a long distance relationship trying to restore some normalcy to your life post a major illness... Even more, if you are struggling career wise and are at your wits end trying to figure out life and are in the pursuit of happiness , whilst being surrounded by a bunch of over caring non family members whose SOLE motto in life is to get you married off to some random guy of their taste !!!! So hell yaa, it sucked big time when i turned 25 !!!       I tried being sagacious about it ... tried ..tried and tried some more ...... The more i tried , the worse it got.. It was a downward spiral,wherein i smiled and laughed outwardly,but fretted and fumed and sulked about my life... I felt i was the victim, when in reality i deserved so much more ...We all do,don't we? :) I t...

Out of nowhere today, i felt the urge to blog.. It's been months since i have penned down anything!!! no sooner did i log in , than i realised that it has been SEVEN long years ,since i first entered the world of blogging !!! As i sat down and glanced through my posts , i smiled :) The more i read.... the more i smiled !!! I realised how much has changed and yet somehow things still are the same .........  I have hereby decided to resume blogging,immaterial of whether my blogs get read or not... afterall i started off by claiming this blog to be akin to my personal public diary!!!
